Gender Reveal Party

Truth: The main reason why I really wanted to throw my own Gender Reveal Party is so I could have an excuse to create a dessert bar. In the end, finding out what our baby is going to be surrounded by family was, well, the icing on a very sweet cake.

Our dining room -- unfortunately, the "Boy or Girl" banner did not fit over the dessert bar so we had to improvise.
As you can see in the photo above, our dining room table is in front of our buffet, and there is a light fixture hanging from the ceiling, which makes it hard to shoot this straight on. This was the best we could do.
Yummy lemon Squares, recipe from Cooking Light.

The big reveal!
The party's signature cocktail, a Minty Mango Cooler. I made up a non-alcoholic batch for our beverage station and let guests add their own vodka and mint. Recipe courtesy of Preggatinis: Mixology for the Mom-to-be.
Guests were encouraged to place their votes on a chalkboard in our kitchen.

Special thanks to Anna and Blue Paperie who created the dessert cards and water bottle wrappers, and The Sweet Peace bakery who made the cake.
